The brain is swollen with flattened convolutions, and the cerebellum has been compressed. A tumour 6 cm in diameter in the left cerebral hemisphere is pushing midline structures to the opposite side and almost obliterating the left lateral ventricle. The tumour is variable in appearance, being solid in some areas and cystic in others, with some necrotic and haemorrhagic areas.
